Furniture Lock

Cam locks and quarter-turn furniture locks are standard for filing cabinets, specify barrel length, cam geometry and keyed-different or keyed-alike options for office deployments.

Many cabinet locks have a small code stamped on the barrel, match the code with supplier key-by-code services or replace the barrel to re-key as needed.

For confidential or regulated data, furniture locks are low-security, use lockable safes or secure storage units rated for documents rather than relying solely on furniture cam locks.

Periodically clean the keyway, use a graphite or dedicated lock lubricant and replace weakened cams or plastic surrounds to maintain smooth operation.
