Combination Padlock

Resettable combination padlocks use a reset lever or button. Open the lock first with the current code, engage the reset, set a new code, then return the lever—follow the manufacturer steps to avoid locking yourself out.

Combination padlocks remove key-management but are vulnerable to dial-manipulation or guessing unless you choose robust multi-dial or electronic models with anti-shimming features; for high risk, prefer a rated keyed padlock.

Look for user-changeable codes, master-code or audit features (on electronic models) and weatherproof housings so teams can share access without key distribution.

If you forget the combination to your padlock, check the manufacturer’s recovery procedure (some models allow code recovery with proof of purchase), otherwise a locksmith can open or decode many combination locks without damage.
